Statement On Colorado Antisemitic Violence
Another act of cold blooded violence against Jews unleashed, this time in the Rockies of Boulder Colorado. Another use of incendiary devices meant to kill, maim and destroy. Another attempt to spread fear and terror. Another hateful incident accompanied by cries of “Free Palestine.”
The new Antisemitic Playbook is gradually being unfurled. Find symbolic settings and/or Jewish Holidays. Maximize human suffering. Burn or shoot to kill. Make Jewish elected officials, Israeli diplomats, and community members concerned about Israel a target. Young or old, it doesn’t matter.
On Shavuot this past Sunday, a small group of Jewish people gathered in Boulder Colorado to raise awareness and urge the release of the October 7 hostages. A man disguised as a gardener launched molotov cocktails and used a flamethrower to injure 12 Jews aged 25-88. A husband and wife were severely burned, both remain in the hospital in serious condition. A woman in her 80s was “touch and go with horrific burns all over her body and was lying on the ground in flames, bringing back horrendous memories of our own Jewish history,” according to what her Rabbi told CNN. Unbelievably, one of the victims was a holocaust survivor. Surviving the worst Antisemitic atrocity in human history only to be injured in this current Antisemitic savagery. Afterwards, this phoney gardner admitted he had wanted to kill all zionists.
Just 11 days before, two young Israeli diplomats about to be married were shot to death by a firestorm of bullets as they were leaving the Capitol Jewish Museum following an American Jewish Committee event. And let’s not forget the Passover arson in the Governor’s dining room, the same room that held the Passover seder just hours before and above which the Governor’s family was sleeping.
Our hearts go out to all the victims and their families.
The growing scope of these attacks is designed not only to kill, burn and maim the direct target Jews, but to intimidate and chill all of us, wherever we are.
The Louis D. Brandeis Law Society condemns all these attacks and urges all of us to remain strong, remain united and remain vigilant. More than ever. We must work to prevent Antisemitic violence
We support the call for greater financial resources for Jewish security issued in the June 1, 2025 Statement of Eric D. Fingerhut, President and CEO of the Jewish Federations of North America .
The Louis D. Brandeis Law Society is committed to the safety of all Jews and to a democracy without fear, a democracy without intimidation, and a democracy without Antisemitism.
